Mario XOXO: Chapter 5

"But, it was MY idea to get a ring," Luigi whined.  

Mario had given the ring he found earlier to the princess, and out of joy she rushed to the party to show Daisy.  

Peach just sighed and gazed lovingly at her jewelery, ignoring Luigi.  Mario was proud that he had been the source of her joy.

"Is that what you got me?" Daisy asked with innocence.  Luigi nodded and gave a big grin.  

"Oh," Daisy said looking at the floor, "I wanted chocolate."

Luigi gave her a look of hatred, and just warned her: "I'm NOT talking to you anymore."

Daisy gave him a hug, but his anger stayed written on his face.

As the princess, Peach was greeting all her guests and discussing world affairs.  Every person who she shook her hand noticed her ring, and gave compliments.  When Peach returned to her friends, she whispered to Mario:

"If this was for Valentine's day,"  she was pointing to the ring,"does this mean you're my Valentine?"

His face reddened, he didn't know the answer!  So he nodded and told her,

"That makes sense, I guess, if you want me to that is-"

She smiled, and continued to greet guests.   He noticed she was dizzy and losing balance as she tried to listen to what was being said to her.  She was holding her head with one hand, and asked the toad she was talking to if she may be excused.  She barely made it to the kitchen.  Of course, Mario was right behind her, ready to catch her if she fell.  She was trying to pour herself a glass of water, but he took the glass away from her.  

"Are you feeling alright?" he asked pouring water into her glass for her.

"I-I'm sure that- I'm okay," she reassured, "I'm just tired from preparing for the party, thats all."

He handed her the glass of water, and she began to take little sips.  She tried to laugh it off, and convince him she was fine; but his face showed he was still awfully worried.  

"I'm okay," she said holding his hand and patting it, "trust me-"

But as she was talking, she collapsed to the floor.  Her eyes where growing heavy, and she she was putting much effort into keeping them open.

"PEACH!" Mario cried, holding her head up.

"I'm so tired," she explained,"I want to rest."

"No, Peach," Mario warned, "try to stay awake, we need to find out whats happening..."

But it was no use.  She let her eyes close, and they didn't open again.
